Read & Run Chicago was founded based on the genuine desire of its founder to create the type of community she so desperately sought.

Since starting in May 2021, we’ve hosted more than 90 events in English and Spanish for upwards of 300 Chicagoans in more than 30 Chicago neighborhoods, working with dozens of local experts and authors and promoting local bookstores.

What You’re Supporting

Our small team of two works tirelessly to create the type of community connections and meaningful touch points for literary lovers, movers, authors, local businesses, bookstores, and libraries, all without investors or corporate funding. As a small business, we’re also left out of traditional grant and funding opportunities only available to registered nonprofit organizations.

Your generous donation supports the longevity and overhead operating costs so that we can continue providing the meaningful, wholesome opportunities for Chicagoans to engage thoughtfully with the city’s stories and create lasting relationships along the way.
