Running Tour of North Branch of the Chicago River with Chelsey Grassfield

On this 4.3 mile, easy-paced run with guide Chelsey Grassfield through a few loosely connected parks, we’ll learn about the removal of a dam, the work to naturalize a riverbank, a wastewater building you’ve probably seen but never knew what it was, run over a newly built pedestrian/bike bridge, and more.

Meet at 6pm on Wednesday, March 1 at River Park (Google Maps link here). Please head to the west side of river on Argyle Street, near the track; NOT the large fieldhouse building on N. Francisco. The park's official address is 5100 N Francisco Ave, but head to the Argyle Street bridge. Optional post-run dinner (cost not included) will be held at Himalayan Sherpa Kitchen.

Register for this event here.

REQUIRED DONATION: To attend, you must make a donation to the Illinois Environmental Council (IEC) USING THIS LINK. Give what you can, but we suggest a $20 donation. Guide Chelsey Grassfield is on the IEC Young Professionals Board and is fundraising with her colleagues for the IEC to benefit the important environmental work they do.
