The Chicago River(s) Run Series Part 5: Running Tour of Little Calumet

In this series, Read & Run Chicago Guide & Friends of the Chicago River Policy Manager Chelsey Grassfield leads runners on a series of river runs inspired by Libby Hill's The Chicago River: a Natural and Unnatural History!

Chicagoland is graced with more than one river to run along. The next installment of this series takes us to the Little Calumet River. We’ll start through the peaceful Forest Preserves of Whistler Woods and cross over the Little Calumet on the Major Taylor Trail. We’ll also see a bat house and osprey nesting pole on the run too (wildlife spotting not guaranteed, but fingers crossed)!
